Dr. Maya Meinhold Shelton, DC is a licensed chiropractor in Minnesota and Wisconsin.  She completed her Doctorate of Chiropractic at Northwestern Health Sciences University and obtained her Animal Chiropractic Certification from Options for Animals College of Animal Chiropractic.  She holds an IVCA (International Veterinary Chiropractic Association) certification in animal chiropractic.  Dr. Maya also earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin - River Falls in Animal Science with an Equine Emphasis.  Dr. Maya is certified in a myriad of soft tissue techniques including Myofascial Release Therapy, Craniosacral Therapy, Graston Technique (IASTM), and more.

Dr. Maya has been in practice since 2015 and has spent the majority of that time focusing on equine chiropractic care.  She is passionate about animal chiropractic and the welfare of animals.  She served on an advisory committee for the Wisconsin Veterinary Examining Board to help with the integration of animal chiropractic along with other complementary and alternative medicines into the state’s veterinary statutes.  Dr. Maya has also been an instructor with Alliance for Integrative Care since its inception to help DCs and DVMs alike gain a greater understanding of and proficiency in equine chiropractic care.
